HORSE SHOW 2009

My Punkin was in a horse show today - and I'm a proud momma! After today, I have developed quite a healthy fear of horses! What a nerve-wracking day. They are beautiful creatures, but so powerful! I don't know how these girls handle them so well. They really did a great job. She did get quite a case of the nerves today (understandably), and it almost got the better of her, but she pushed on and went out there and did her thing, and came in fifth place!

Here is dad giving her a quick final check....and then

She enters the dressage arena...

She did SUPER in dressage, and then headed over to the jumping arena..

Waiting her turn...

This is my Punkin with her best riding buddy!

Not a happy Punkin face! :(
But she conquered...and entered the jumping arena..

And had a fantastic run!

Going over the judges scores with her trainer.

And best riding buddy received a third place ribbon!! Way to go girls - we are so proud of you!

Kirsten, you are a beautiful rider. I can understand why you might get nervous especially during the jumps. I remember what that big guy did before in his jumps. Congrats. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, Smokey-Joe decided to dump her right off the day before, so that was a little fresh in her mind. She was on a horse 24-7 at camp the week leading up to this and was super-confident, even did a little show on Friday to wrap up camp! She did a great job though.
