SUGAR AND SPICE AND EVERYTHING NICE!

One of the things that I love the most about my job is getting to meet so many wonderful people! I had a great time tonight with this very fun family. We had never met before this evening, but realized we had a lot in common and so much to talk about! We had great conversations about little girls, and homeschooling, and all things related to Christ. Their little girls were so sweet and very photogenic - and there may just be another little girl addition to this family next spring (or it could be a boy too!). If you would like to see the rest of the images from this session, you can enter the code "sleeper" under the client section of my site HERE.

FALL RANDOMNESS

Just thought I would share a few pictures from this week. Fall is certainly in the air here lately. We had one morning this week that we woke up to temperatures in the 40's. I love sleeping with the windows open, and even having to shut them because it's so chilly!! This is my absolute favorite time of year living in Maryland. It still catches me by surprise, being a southern girl and all, how much I enjoy the crisp nights and the changes of season. I caught these pictures of Boo the other night shortly after she had been tucked in. We had gone to the library that day, and she insisted on checking out a few chapter books from the section that big sister was perusing.

Looks like the book was completely captivating!! ;)

This little girl loves books more than I thought any kid ever could! And that is saying a lot because biggest sister Punkin, is an avid book reader and can rarely be found without a book in her hands (unless she is on a horse, which now that I think about it, I'm surprised I haven't seen her reading a book while on the back of a horse!). But I think Miss Boo may have her beat. I have read every book in this house (which I am unashamed to say is more than any family should own when it comes to children's books), to Boo at least ten times. Every single book. She rarely meets a book she doesn't love. And usually I have to read them repeatedly. I mean, immediately, repeatedly. "Read it again mom". Probably the only thing she doesn't really enjoy is any story that has heavy machinery in it. :) We have a collection of books about Mike Mulligan (and his famous steam shovel), which she tolerates, but doesn't ask for it to be repeated. I find that interesting because her cousin Tanek, LOVES any story with big trucks, tractors, steam shovels or plows in it! What can I say other than she is just a girlie-girl!! Maybe if the plows were pink.......
Photobucket
I love looking out the front window and seeing this in my driveway! I love how all the kids around here all hang out together, regardless of age. I think Boo loves it best of all!

After we went and picked more than our combined weight in apples last weekend (well, not really). We decided to come up with some creative things to do with all those apples! Banana had checked out an American Girl Cookbook (Felicity) and found a great recipe for apple butter. If you could only smell how wonderful this was as it bubbled away on our stove. Our house was full of the very smell of autumn! Apples, cinnamon, all-spice and cloves..... it was heavenly! We made a double batch so that we had plenty to share with our friends! Punkin thought we needed a picture of it... if only you could smell a picture! Happy Fall yall!

BOOKED FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR!

I'm very sad to say that I am no longer accepting sessions for clients for the remainder of the year. I have committed to making homeschooling my priority, which leaves me with a limited number of sessions per month. I have been booked for quite a while now, and it is safe to say that I am even over-booked. It's so hard to turn clients away! Thanks to all of you who have spread the word about my little business. I have committed to never advertise, and have been so blessed to have my business grow through word of mouth only! You guys are the best!

LOOK WHO IS SIX MONTHS OLD!

My favorite little baby planner guy is six months old now! He has GOT to be the easiest baby to photograph EVER!! He is always so cooperative and easy-going. He just does whatever we ask of him - sometimes he looks at us like we're nuts, but thats okay, sometimes we are!

THE K FAMILY

Last night I had the pleasure of capturing this family. They live in the most beautiful section of historic downtown Baltimore. They have THIS incredible garden right in the middle of their neighborhood where we did their session. Here is a little sneak peak for you.

APPLE PICKING DAY!

We woke up to such a beautiful day today, we decided it was perfect for apple picking! We usually wait until October, the end of apple season. And usually we are battling about a million and one bees hovering over all the rotten apples on the ground. It was much nicer to pick apples at their peak of ripeness and avoid the bees!
Photobucket
We took a tractor-pulled wagon ride out to the apple orchard. In October, it's a hayride. I'm glad we avoided that as well. It was nice to just be in a wagon without all the hay flying everywhere!

Oh my goodness - look who made it into a picture! Can you believe how much taller Punkin is than me?

The nice farmer told the girls to help themselves to an apple as they were picking!
Photobucket
Boo enjoyed hers very much!

This picture makes me think of Adam and Eve being tempted by the fruit in the Garden of Eden. Either that or Snow White!! :)

Daddy caught me taking some video with my I-phone. Have I told you how much I love that phone? Looks like I'm trying to give my little phone a little hug! :) I would if I could. I love that guy.

The girls noticed that some of the trees had been pruned a little more than the others, and the ones that had pruned had so much more fruit on them. It was a great lesson in how God "prunes" us sometimes, and it doesn't feel good at all at the time, but it makes us produce more fruit later. We also talked about how "one bad apple can spoil the whole barrel" as they were inspecting their apples for signs of bruising. Who knew there were no many life lessons picking apples?

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree! (okay last one, I promise!)

A BOUNTIFUL HARVEST

Yesterday the girls decided it was time to pull all the carrots out of the garden. The carrots are kind of small, and they tasted pretty bitter. Papa told us this morning that we need more lime in the soil to make them sweeter for next year. But the girls sure did enjoy feeding all those carrots to the horses yesterday.

And the boys couldn't get enough of them!

BUT I'M NOT TIRED!!!

Photobucket

Boo is transitioning from a daily afternoon nap to just a rest time now. A few nights ago Daddy announced it was her bedtime, and we got the classic "But Daaaaaaddy, I'm not tiiiiiiiiiiired". He came downstairs a few minutes later saying that for a little girl who wasn't very tired, she was already asleep!! When we told Boo the story the next morning about how quickly she fell asleep, she said "I know, I was in a hurry!".
