Garage Makeover

Our spring break has been wonderful! How much we all needed a week to do nothing or whatever we WANT to do instead. I've been surprised at how much initiative has been shown by the girls (an answer to prayer!). They did their room switch, they took a day to plant the vegetable garden and plant flowers on the porch and deck (which I somehow deleted ALL the pictures from). Punkin even planted her own herb garden on the deck. They even willingly painted the garage. I rewarded them all yesterday with a trip to the zoo to enjoy the wonderful spring weather. Here are the pictures from the garage reorganization....
The before picture -  all that stuff piled in the middle was somehow all against the walls and we were still able to put both cars in there.... I'm not really sure how.

Teenagers LOVE to paint!! Who knew??  And six-year-olds love to paint in very interesting attire...

The cheering section.....

One more look at the before.....

and AFTER!!

YAY!!! It only took seven years to finally get the garage painted.  We ran out of paint (and energy!) before we made it to the ceiling.  Another day perhaps.... or perhaps not. Just don't look up. :)

I plan on labeling the bins (OF COURSE!) but now all the kids toys are within easy reach but up off the floor. With things like Christmas window wreaths up in the top bins, along with those garage chemical type items we want out of their reach.

Boot storage in the bottom stackable bins right by the door, with recycling in the top bin.  Ahhhhhh - a nice clean organized garage.  I wonder how long it will last?  Again, our garbage men heaved a big sigh when they pulled up to our house yesterday.  :)
